Veterans History Project 10th Anniversary

 

The Library of Congress celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Veterans History Project on September 29,  Mr. Jon Bickel with guest, Mrs. Dorothy Noll, were invited to attend the "invitation only" event to mark the occasion. In 2010, the project contained almost 10,000 archived interviews.

 

 

A reception was held in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress. Opening remarks were given by Bob Patrick, Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret.) and Director of the Veterans History Project. Additional speakers included Dr. James H. Billington, Librarian of Congress, Former United States Senator Chuck Hagel, United States Representative Ron Kind, United States Senator Richard Lugar, Kathryn Lerch, Educator at Park Tudor School in Indianapolis, IN, Tracy R. Dunlap, National Court Reporters Association, Renaee Allen, United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and Brian Mark, Vietnam Veteran.
